About Me

After working as a teacher, school counselor and principal for many years and my own personal experience with divorce, I realized there is not enough support for parents and families.  It’s hard enough for married parents to deal with the demands of raising a family, but when parents divorce, it can be devastating for the children if communication and the relationship between parents and children does not remain civil. That is why I became a family/parent coach. My goal is to educate and coach parents to develop strategies and skills to help themselves and their children navigate life in a respectful and positive manner.

Parents with children diagnosed with ADHD/ADD and other learning or behavioral challenges often do not know how to address their child’s needs. Sometimes, society blames poor parenting for a child’s inappropriate or misunderstood behavior. This only adds more stress for all involved. Family or parent education and coaching can provide parents with the support, skills and resources needed to help their child succeed.

I use a collaborative, strength based coaching model with my clients.  Through this approach, I provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address the challenges they choose to work on through coaching.  I also integrate coaching techniques and helpful assignments to offer a highly personalized program. With compassion and understanding, I work with clients to identify their own personal strengths and help them learn to use those strengths to develop goals and strategies to achieve a positive and healthy personal and family life.

In addition to being a ICF Certified Life Coach, I also contract with a local nonprofit to present parent education programs for divorcing parents. Lastly, I am a contractor for the Ohio Department of Education serving on a school District Review Team evaluating student support programs and services.

As a former teacher, school counselor and administrator working in a rural, suburban and large city school district, I’ve worked with children, teens and adults from all walks of life.

Last, but not least, I am blessed with 3 children and 7 grandchildren who have taught me many life lessons.
